Who We Are

The custom home building process isn’t so much about a particular name or an institution as it is the individuals who create, manage and implement the difficult elements of that practice.

Project Manager

Miriam was born and raised in Minnesota and North Carolina. In the mid-90’s she moved to Washington where she joined her husband who recently retired from the Navy’s submarine force. Miriam received her degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Phoenix. Since 1996, Miriam has been involved in the home building, land development and real estate industry with Westharbor Homes, Port Ludlow Associates, and Pope Resources, as well as with personal ventures in real estate investing and home building and remodeling. Miriam lives in Poulsbo with her husband and two children, and enjoys all activities that take her outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. You can often find her and her family riding quads at the sand dunes throughout the West Coast.

President & CEO

Diana Smeland considers herself a true North Westerner as she came to live in the Puget Sound area around 1974.  She has over 20 years experience in working with real estate and resort businesses in Port Ludlow on the Olympic Peninsula.  Diana: I really enjoy working with our clients to help them realize their dream home.  I am usually on the financial side, so it allows me the opportunity to step outside.

Diana lives in Poulsbo and enjoys spending time traveling with her husband in their RV, watching her daughter play volleyball and numerous outdoor activities like golf, fishing and hiking.

Construction Manager

Brent Sasse [pictured in center] has spent most of his life and home building career in the Southern California area. After a visit to Washington state a few years ago, he fell in love with the natural beauty of the water, the mountains, and the greenery for which Washington state is known, and moved his family up here. Brent worked for Lennar Homes, one of the largest spec home builders in the US, as well as building several schools and shopping centers.  He has received letters of accommodations, including one from United States Olympic Committee, on work he did at one of their training facilities.  He is well versed in all aspects of construction from maintenance, remodel, new construction both in the residential and commercial fields. Since moving to Washington, Brent has taken up the game of golf, and can often times be found at the Port Ludlow Golf Club practicing his swing, or conducting business on the course. Brent lives in Poulsbo, with his wife and 2 children.
