Olympic Peninsula 4th of July

What to do on the weekend of the 4th? Living in Port Ludlow gives you a ton of choices for the 3rd & 4th of July activities. If you like live music in the day and fireworks at night you can always check out Tacoma’s Freedom Fair, which is in its 31st year this year. It is located on Commencement Bay next to the Ruston Way waterfront.  http://www.freedomfair.com

For a more urban 4th you can always take a trip to Seattle, have a late lunch at Ivar's fish house (a Seattle landmark) http://www.ivars.net/ Check out the Seattle aquarium, www.seattleaquarium.org, take a stroll around Pike Place Market http://www.pikeplacemarket.org/, then catch dinner and prepare for the fireworks over Elliott Bay.

For something a bit closer to home there is the Port Gamble Car Show, which runs July 2nd and 3rd. Here you can see over 450 cars that come from all over Washington, Oregon, and Western Canada. There will be all makes and models of cars including vintage race cars, Ford Mustangs, Corvettes, and even Gig Harbor’s first fire truck, a 1910 Ford.

Only 20 minutes away, you can visit the quaint Norwegian village of Poulsbo for their 3rd of July events. Starting at noon, there will be live music, concessions, and food, and a fireworks display set to music. The pyrotechnics crew tell us that "it will incorporate one of the largest displays of shells ever launched in Kitsap County".

After the car show and fireworks in Poulsbo, why not pop on over to Port Angeles for their annual celebration which includes fireworks, parade and festival the fun starts at 4:30pm in front of the Clallam County Courthouse, and the fireworks start around dusk (10pm) http://www.portangeles.org/wavebroadband4th.html

We hope you enjoy a safe and fun 4th.
